The Beehive After-School Program is a space for your busy bee to regroup after an exhausting day. As their small bodies work hard to grow the last thing you want is for them to be on the go with no big picture as to why! Plus there is the added peace-of-mind that your little one is grouped with others of the similar ages and grades.
At the Beehive, there will be plenty of fun and movement but we also want to give kids the opportunity to stop, think and process their day before they get home to you and need to get through routines before bedtime.
Then, children will be actively participating in a variety of motor fitness games, dance and workouts to continue their cognitive development and gross motor skills.
The Beehive Program will focus on Spanish acquisition 45min a day. Immersion style communication will be at the heart so both languages will be used consistently. Lessons will focus on vocabulary: colors, numbers, animals, fruits/food, clothing, weather, days, body parts, action verbs, songs, common phrases to communicate needs, wants and emotions.
The buzzing will have to wait as your little bees have time to nourish their growing bodies and minds with snacks provided at The Beehive. They are also welcome to finish their own snacks
Bees are infamous for their representation of a harmonious community. Our busy bees will practice community building activities and circles to promote positive self-esteem, positive social interactions and self-reflections. Children will be able to connect with each other in a safe space sharing highs and lows, what they did and learned at school and set personal goals.
Children will be active the majority of the time they are at The Beehive but there will also be opportunity for the development of mindfulness. As young children turn the focus inward they practice building self-awareness which will help them regulate and communicate what they need.
