At The Busy Bee Activity Center, our mission is to enrich the lives of children and families in the Alameda community through engaging, inclusive, and creative programs.
We strive to be a welcoming hub where every child can explore their interests, discover new passions, and grow through play, learning, and connection.
Through our diverse classes, camps, and events, we aim to provide a safe, accessible space that supports families, celebrates individuality, and inspires a lifelong love of movement, creativity, and community.
Annahita Rad holds a Master's in Education and teaching credential from UC Davis and a BA from UCLA. She is also certified in Business Administration through UC Berkeley and as a Conflict Mediator through the Restoring Civility Conflict Resolution Program (Los Angeles) where she trained kids to become peer mediators.
Ms. Rad, as she is known by former students, has been serving Alameda kids in public education for nearly 15 years. She recently resigned from public education to pursue new endeavors and started this business based on what she knows best. Children. Teaching. Achievement.
Previously, she was the Director of Special Education at a local charter district, which she took on in 2019 after serving as a school site administrative in a variety of capacities since 2014. As a master teacher in the classroom for 6 years, Annahita is passionate about child-centered learning. As a Principal, she worked to improve equity. Her dedication to a learner-first approach and experiential learning supports her belief that a diverse community requires a variety of approaches to make learning accessible and meaningful to all inside and outside the classroom.
Annahita resides in Alameda with her husband, son, and daughter.
