Exposure to languages improves Empathy
This encourages children to think from a new point of view, improving cultural sensitivity. At a crucial time in their development, exposing children to new ways of seeing the world and appreciating where others come from can be character-defining.
Building a bigger, better brain
Children actually form connections and grow new brain cells to process the particular languages they are exposed to. Bilingual children tend to actually have measurably larger brains with denser grey matter than their monolingual peers.
Studies have also repeatedly shown that foreign language learning increases critical thinking skills, creativity and flexibility of mind and concentration.

All classes are designed to keep children engaged and active. Developed in the Montessori style and with best teaching practices in mind (I do, we do, you do), learners will begin to explore Spanish vocabulary thematically. Activities for each level are developmentally appropriate for the age groupings listed below.
These classes are ideal for children who are new to learning Spanish or have had exposure but do not have the opportunity to practice on a regular bases.
Class sessions are 10 weeks long, 1 time per week for 45 min each. Learners will spoken to in Spanish and English and learn through the use of book readers for foundation, activities that include matching/sorting and movement, song, storybooks and games. It is expected that children will need multiple exposures to themes to acquire language and may take the sessions more than once.
Older children with some Spanish Language knowledge will be challenged to speak and write in Spanish. Along with appropriate games and books, older children will work on worksheets and with reader books they will take home.
All levels will receive vocabulary lists to take home to support with practice outside of the weekly sessions increasing the exposure to language which will increase the rate at which language is acquired.
